Dive sites near the D'Entrecasteaux Islands and Tufi, PNG

Depth: 1-40m (3-131ft) and deeper
Visibility: 5-50m (16-164ft) and more
Accessibility: Shore, Boat, Live-aboard
Time to visit: All year around with warmest water in summer (nov-feb)

Finding dive shops can be hard and in general it is better to arrange this beforehand. Live-aboards that visit Milne Bay, often also go here.

The D'Entrecasteaus Islands consist out of volcanic cones and hot springs. Tufi has strong fjords that slice through the hills. Water temperatures ranging from 26 degrees in June up to 28 degrees in February. The rainy season is from December to March, with temperatures 28 degrees all year round. Winds from the Northwest will blow from January to April, often being short.
