Planet Rock is a dive site for the large pelagic fish fanatics. Hammerheads, barracuda, tuna and jacks are common visitors as well as snappers and
triggerfish. It is a small coral pinnacle or volcanic seamount just a few kilometers south west of
Madang. It rises from the deep to about 4 meters below the surface and its size is not more than 150 by 50 meters at max. Diving here can only been done in calm water, when boats can provide a safe entry and exit. The visibility there seems to be a bit murky because of water that enters the ocean from rivers near Madang. Going down a few meters and the visibility often improves a lot. For the rest it is a dive site with multitudes of small fish and beautiful corals in all types and colors.

Editor: Lars Hemel Have fun breathing underwater, but breathing above water is even more important!
