Kaplaman reef is a small reef, mainly consisting of pinnacles and ridges rising from 40 meters to 2 meters below the surface. The walls are home to many species of coral and invertebrates. At the current side of these ridges are many pelagic to be found such as mackerel, tuna and barracuda. Reef fish such as anthias and hawkfish and other species such as turtles, eagle rays and reef sharks are often encountered.
